The Pioneer Woman’s Halloween bark

I made this bark last year, but by the time I got around to uploading the pics, Halloween was well over.
But now that September is officially here, and Pumpkin Spice Latte is on the menu at Starbucks, I thought to myself, it’s time to look to the fall and all the glorious things the season brings.
In any case, I really made this because I loved the colours.
I made two batches – one with white chocolate and one with semi-sweet. Truth be told, I probably preferred the semi-sweet version but the white showcases the colours of the ingredients better.

Really, it’s hard to get this wrong. This recipe has that much going for it. That, and the fact you can customize it based on your tastes. But other than that, put this one under the list of things you can make with your kids.

No matter how you feel about The Pioneer Woman, I have to say her recipes are usually big hits in my household.

This one though, was just ok. Maybe all the Halloween candy overshadowed everything else, but I think I’d rather reach for a bowl of Reese’s Pieces candy.

Substitutions: I didn’t use pistachios but the beauty of this recipe is you can add, or leave out anything you really want to.

Would I make this again? Probably not.

Grade: 3 stars out of five. There’s nothing wrong with this recipe it is just, and it’s rare for me to say this, a bit too saccharine for my liking.
